What distinguishes our work?
Participant Ownership - Our campaigns are run democratically by local residents to draw community buy in. When communities are involved in campaign development and management locals also have the opportunity to develop the skills needed to innovate and execute on other projects once our campaign ends.
Electoral and Legislative Synergy - We begin by supporting community education and engagement in the legislative process. This makes the importance of supportive elected officials real to our communities. That experience drives local commitment to voter registration, voter persuasion, and voter mobilization. Community electoral engagement in turn feeds back into legislative engagement.
Progressive Coalition Building - Our intention is to help Latinos network, train, and collaborate not only among ourselves, but also with other constituency groups. Economic, Education, Environmental, Faith, Justice, Labor, LGBT, Minority, Women groups work issues that Latinos care about. By working together on a project by project basis we can build majority power coalitions needed in legislative and electoral engagement.
